Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)
MyCareer@VA

This contract was part of a continuing effort by The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to improve the career and professional development services it provides to our nation’s veterans. It played a key role in the presidential administration's desire to transform VA into a more people-centric, results-driven and forward-looking organization. The program was designed to provide employees with the opportunity to explore and imagine their future with VA and reinforced VA’s commitment to developing talent from within the organization, while also helping employees navigate their career options effectively.

At the center of this effort was a powerful career mapping website, a "career path tool," designed to provide a visual depiction of career progression within and between cross-cutting occupations, and opportunities for moving out of occupations that have traditionally offered limited career progression. This tool would ensure that VA employees continue to have access to the functional training, experience and education necessary to enhance their job performance, career progression and development as multifunctional leaders.

As part of this engagement, DAI:

  • Supported the development of a web-based career path tool by consulting in the areas of interface design, navigation structure and content development
  • Assisted in development of intuitive and accessible design structure that ensures flexibility for future expansion of user base
  • Developed and presented a strategic communications and promotional plan to generate interest and educate users
  • Assisted in rebranding the program as MyCareer@VA
